MY BIO

My name is Jennifer Shrader, and I am the founder of VideoBasedCounseling.com. VideoBasedCounseling.com was established in 2005 to offer an alternative form of counseling that could be as close as possible to traditional face-to-face counseling, but would allow the client to control their atmosphere and their flexibility of scheduling. After spending considerable time studying different forms of "E-Therapy," I came to the conclusion that phone, chat and e-mail counseling did not preserve the "client-to-counselor" relationship. I also found that these therapies were, in my opinion, "very expensive!" I believe that counseling should be accessible to everyone, so VBC is FREE. I take donations and sponsorships from those who are able to give what they can. Because VBC is free, don't assume that the help you receive won't be professional and effective. You will receive high-quality, competent help while knowing that price didn't stand in your way of getting the services you need.

Also, because we are all human, we have all experienced pain and suffering at times. It is a strength to acknowledge the pain and seek assistance in reducing it. I am here to help lessen the pain and to assist in living life to its fullest. Counseling is much more than talking about your problems. It is working together with your counselor to develop new understandings and solutions for your life.

I believe you must know yourself, respect other people and always be nonjudgmental. My goal is to become the leading provider of online counseling and to also set a standard in which other sites will follow. It is my sincere hope that VBC© makes effective, convenient and free counseling available for everyone.
